Flamenco 101 with Carmen Romero

This workshop will give you a taste of the passionate world of Flamenco. You will learn how to stomp your feet and clap your hands in time to the rhythm while you move your arms in powerful ways. Carmen will sing for you while you dance with energy and passion!

Carmen Romero is the artistic director of Compañía Carmen Romero School of Flamenco dance arts and is a leading and award-winning established flamenco dance artist whose experience in performance, education, production and adjudication, affirms her position in the national and international dance scene. She coached Latin Pop star “Shakira” in her 2010. Carmen represented Canada at the 9th Annual Certamen de Coreogrfia de Danza Espanola y Flamenco in Madrid and at the International Castanet festival in Girona, Spain 2014. Carmen Romero breaks down barriers and explores the paths less travelled connecting with people and creating dance that is passionate and relevant.
