This workshop will focus on Bachata, a social dance that originated in the Dominican Republic during the 1960s. This dance is fun and easy to learn, and Abanico Dance Academy instructor Claudia Huerta will guide participants through basic movements that can be done with or without a partner.
Claudia Huerta was born and raised in Peru. Her musicality and joy are what characterize her as a dancer and instructor. She loves encouraging students to enjoy the music, to feel comfortable with their bodies while dancing and to dance with "Sabor" or “Flavour,” which is essential for Latin rhythms.
*This workshop is free. Each participant must pre-register to ensure we meet physical distancing and contact tracing guidelines. Please arrive 10 minutes early to check in.
